About Us
Dollar Bay-Tamarack City Area Schools has been a presence in the community since 1914. In recent years, we have experienced significant growth, evidenced by individual students earning awards, cutting-edge programs like marine robotics, rising test scores, and state and national recognition.
Our highly responsive and caring faculty (~21 teachers), administrators, and staff ensure that students at DB-TC receive an education catered to the individual. In our family-feel school of ~330 students K-12, every child is known as an individual and guided in a positive, supportive environment. We use the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBiS) framework to create a positive school culture and improve academic outcomes.
DB-TC uses a trimester scheduling system. The trimester schedule provides fewer classes in a day (only five, rather than seven) for middle and high school, but extended class time (76 minutes) in each class. We believe that this schedule better supports excellent academics at Dollar Bay-Tamarack City.
Our school day runs 8:25 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; our school year begins the Tuesday after Labor Day and ends in early June.
Through DB-TC's teachers, programs, activities, and sports, we...
-Educate students to compete successfully in our changing world,
-Prepare students for life-long learning and responsible citizenship,
-Encourage social, emotional, and physical well-being by working cooperatively with organizations, our community, and its families.
